What Killed Alan Thicke?

The cause of death of TV dad Alan Thicke has been determined to be a ruptured aorta and a “standard type A aortic dissection,” People magazine reports, citing Thicke’s official death certificate.

Thicke, best known for his role on the hit ABC sitcom “Growing Pains,” died Dec. 13 at age 69. The Canadian-born actor reportedly collapsed while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son Carter at Pickwick Gardens in Burbank, Calif. He died soon after being taken to a hospital.
