Trump’s Inauguration Invites Continue to Get Turned Down by Performers — But One Iconic U.S. Band May Take Him Up on the Offer

Donald Trump’s effort to line up talent to perform at his inauguration continues to run into hurdles, with Garth Brooks among the latest artists to turn him down, according to The New York Post’s Page Six.

As we reported this week, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who has a long association with Trump, also turned down the invitation after a “Boycott Bocelli” movement surfaced on social media.

But Trump may have his headliner in his sights. The Post reports that his team has reached out to the Beach Boys — “and they’ve yet to decline.”

Mike Love, who is leading the Beach Boys these days, was asked about the possibility of playing at a Trump inauguration all the way back in September. “He’s been a friend for a long time,” Love told The Post at that time. “Does that mean I agree with everything he says? No. But . . . if we were asked [to play his inauguration], I’m sure that we would.”

The Post’s report today quotes a source close to the band saying: “They have not made a decision.”

The report adds: “So far, Republican organizers have been able to book only teen singer Jackie Evancho and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, which performed at the inaugurations of Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and both Bushes.”

  1. Good for Beach Boys. Don’t let “HATE” from the “left” win.

  2. Ha…funny that no one wants to play..

  3. It is very sad that this is what our Country has become. We are supposed to be the leaders of the free world and we look like children who pout when they lose a round of hide and seek

    • A sad day indeed. Shame to those who refuse to perform. We are Americans who have never all believed in the same things or agreed with everything everyone says or does but we have always come together in support of our country. To those of you who abuse your freedoms…leave. We don’t need you or your bad influences on our youth.

  4. What!!! Even Kid Rock and Ted Nugent aren’t playing? Say it isn’t so!
