A classic fairy tale character is at the center of programming that will be premiering on Disney Channel in March. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that the original movie “Tangled: Before Ever After” and “Tangled: The Series” will bring Rapunzel — along with her magical hair — to the cable channel.

The movie will premiere Saturday, March 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with the series to bow March 24.

“Both the movie and the series take place in between the events of ‘Tangled’ and the short ‘Tangled Ever After,’ which showed Rapunzel and her beloved, Eugene, getting married,” the story reports. “The end of the feature film showed Rapunzel cutting off her magical locks, and she still has short, brown hair in ‘Ever After.’”

But rest assured that Rapunzel’s trademark long, golden locks will be intact in the upcoming productions — with Disney explaining that the hair grows back due to an encounter with some mystical rocks. (The trailer below gives some idea of what’s involved when the hair returns — creating its own problems for Rapunzel.)

Mandy Moore will reportedly reprise her role as Rapunzel, with Eden Espinosa on board as her lady-in-waiting, Cassandra.

Here’s a trailer for “Tangled: Before Ever After” posted earlier this month by Disney Channel …
