The newest addition to the prime-time lineup on Fox News Channel appears to be a home run for the cable news segment leader.

Deadline.com reports that after two full weeks, “Tucker Carlson Tonight” is averaging 3.7 million viewers in its 9 p.m. time slot, with 775,000 in the key news demo of viewers 25-54. In both metrics, the show is beating its competition on CNN and MSNBC. On MSNBC, Rachel Maddow averaged 2.01 million total viewers and 417,000 in the news demo over the two weeks in the 9 p.m. hour, while CNN aired various programs in the slot and averaged 2 million and 633,000.

“‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’s’ numbers also are 37% higher in viewers and up 50% in the news demo compared with the 2016 average of Megyn Kelly’s ‘The Kelly File’ in the 9 p.m. slot,” Deadline notes. “Compared with Kelly’s performance in the same two weeks last year, Carlson is up 95% in the demo and 46% in overall audience.”

The report notes that the year-ago figures did not benefit from Donald Trump’s inauguration. “But Carlson’s numbers seem to make the point that FNC has managed to transition the timeslot after Kelly’s very dramatic tenure and departure for NBC News without seeming to miss a beat,” Deadline adds.

  1. What? The closest female host is just shy of 1/3 the number of Mr Baldwin? From this bastion of liberal views and rhetoric? Guess those are only meant for the deplorables…. Oh wait, these are the same folk who had to be embarrassed into hiring more people of color just a few years ago. Again, their righteous indignation is only for those of opposing viewpoints.

  2. So sick of hearing Black Lives Matter, What about White Lives Matter too. Does not
matter what color you are, we are all in the same boat. Look at TV and see
it is 50/50. So get with the program and stop crying.
