The host of a reality TV show was unconscious for two days following a serious heart attack. TMZ.com reports that Bob Harper, a fitness guru who hosts NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” collapsed while working out at a gym in New York City.

The incident reportedly occurred two weeks ago, and Harper is said to be recovering.

“A doctor who was also working out administered CPR and used paddles to keep Bob alive,” TMZ reports. “The 51-year-old was taken to the hospital and says he woke up 2 days later. He was hospitalized for 8 days and is still in NYC — he lives in L.A. — because his doctors have not cleared him to fly.”

Harper, whose exercise is limited to walking for the time being, reportedly said the heart attack was attributable to genetics, noting that his mother died from a heart attack.

Harper, 51, is a well-known fitness coach and personal trainer who has authored a number of fitness books and is featured in workout videos. He was involved with “The Biggest Loser” as a trainer going back to its first season in 2004, and was named the show’s host in 2015.
