The daughter of actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of Britney Spears, was said to be in critical condition after an ATV accident Sunday.

TMZ.com broke the news of the accident involving 8-year-old Maddie. “Several sources in Kentwood, Louisiana tell TMZ, Maddie was on a Polaris off-road vehicle when it flipped over. We’re told she was under water for several minutes and unconscious,” TMZ reported. “Our sources say she was airlifted to a nearby hospital.”

USA Today reported late Sunday that Maddie was in critical but stable condition.

Jamie Lynn Spears was reportedly not with Maddie at the time of the accident, which occurred on a hunting trip.
