CBS’s new “Star Trek” series has found the actor who will occupy the captain’s seat on the Starship Discovery. Jason Isaacs will play Captain Lorca on “Star Trek: Discovery.”

Additionally, Mary Wiseman, who was recently seen as Trinity on “Baskets,” was cast on “Discovery” as Tilly, a Starfleet Academy cadet in her final year of study, assigned to the Starship Discovery.

Isaacs may be best known as Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” movies. He has a long track record in film and television, including recently playing Dr. “Hap” Percy on the Netflix series “The OA.” Isaacs received a Golden Globe nomination for the 2006 miniseries “The State Within.”

“Star Trek: Discovery” will premiere on the CBS broadcast network before moving to the subscription service CBS All Access.

  1. Yeah, OK. He looks like a “starship captain.”

  2. He could captain the Good Ship Lollipop and I’d watch.
