The winners of the Peabody Awards in News, Public Service, Radio/Podcast and Web were announced today, with CNN and CBS News winning awards along with local NBC stations KNTV in the San Francisco Bay Area and WTHR-TV in Indianapolis.
WTHR won two Peabodys, for its reports “Charity Caught on Camera” and “Dangerous Exposure.” KNTV was honored for its report “Arrested at School: Criminalizing Classroom Misbehavior.”
CNN won a Peabody for the news packages “ISIS in Iraq and Syria,” “Undercover in Syria” and “Battle for Mosul.” “The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” was honored for “Heart of an Epidemic, West Virginia’s Opioid Addiction.”
Today’s announcements complete the Peabody 30, with all the honors to be handed out at the 76th Annual Peabody Awards May 20 in New York.
