CBS announced today that it will have Oscar, Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey as the host of the 71st annual Tony Awards. The ceremony will air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 11 (8-11 p.m., live ET/delayed PT).

Spacey, who won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for his performance in “Lost in Yonkers” in 1991, will be hosting the Tonys for the first time.

In the announcement, Spacey says: “I was their second choice for ‘Usual Suspects,’ fourth choice for ‘American Beauty’ and 15th choice to host this year’s Tony Awards. I think my career is definitely going in the right direction. Maybe I can get shortlisted to host the Oscars if everyone else turns it down.”

Nominations will be announced May 2. Click here for all the details.
