Nielsen announced the rollout of its National Out-of-Home Reporting Service, and the service has already landed a major client in ESPN.
“This opt-in service will provide ESPN and other television networks that subscribe with program and commercial ratings for Live through Live + 7 days of time-shifted viewing,” Nielsen said in Monday’s announcement. “In addition to ESPN, ESPN2 will also opt-in to be measured with this service.”
The new service expands Nielsen’s linear TV reach by reporting audiences in bars, hotels, the workplace and other locations outside consumers’ primary residences, Nielsen noted.
