Reporter Who Exposed Raunchy Trump Tape Wins Pulitzer Prize

“The biggest U.S. news story of 2016 — the tumultuous presidential campaign — yielded a Pulitzer Prize on Monday for the Washington Post reporter who not only raised doubts about Donald Trump’s charitable giving but also revealed that the candidate had been recorded crudely bragging about grabbing women,” the AP reports.

“David A. Fahrenthold won the prize for national reporting, with the judges citing stories that examined Trump’s charitable foundation and called into question whether the real estate magnate was as generous as he claimed,” the report notes. “Fahrenthold’s submission also included his story about Trump’s raunchy behind-the-scenes comments during a 2005 taping of ‘Access Hollywood.’ His talk about groping women’s genitals rocked the White House race and prompted a rare apology from the then-candidate.”

Peggy Noonan of The Wall Street Journal also received a Pulitzer for election-related work, winning the prize for commentary for columns that “connected readers to the shared virtues of Americans during one of the nation’s most divisive political campaigns.”

  1. Telling you everything you need to know about the modern press.

    • Wow. Bill, internet hero.

The effort you put forth to point this out is just nothing short of heroic. You’ve won the internet today, Bill. No need to donate those clothes to charity, you’ve done your part for today.

      • Agree with you Bill. Wonder why no one got a Pulitzer on reporting on how the DNC rigged it so Hillary could get her party’s nomination. Wonder why no one got a Pulitzer on reporting what was found in Hillary’s hacked emails. Wonder why no one got a Pulitzer on reporting how little Obama and Biden donated to charity. Wonder why no one got a Pulitzer on reporting how sloppy and mysterious it was for Hillary to have her emails so easily hacked. Wonder why no one got a Pulitzer for finding out how a YouTube video caused Benghazi. The press hates Trump because of all the hard work they did in helping Hillary get elected.

  2. Great response to Wwwwwwwwwwparker Carol !! Why DIDN’T someone win a Pulitzer for discovering it wasn’t a You-Tube video after all that caused Benghazi. Since Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwparker himself has no clothes now, I’m a little embarrassed for him. 🙂
