ABC has rewarded another prime-time series with a two-season renewal. On the heels of the announcement that the network had signed on for two more seasons of “Modern Family,” ABC also gave a two-season pickup to the sitcom “The Goldbergs.”
The show’s Twitter account confirmed the pickup.
Created by Adam F. Goldberg, “The Goldbergs” stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, George Segal, AJ Michalka and Hayley Orrantia. The Wednesday night series is scheduled to air the final episode of season four on May 17. Recent episodes of the show have been averaging a little more than 5 million total viewers in Nielsen same-day results in the 8 p.m. time slot.
