A TV show airing on broadcast in the past week was television’s highest-rated drama telecast in eight weeks. That’s the word today from Fox, which says the season finale of “Empire” set the mark.
The network cites Live+3 ratings, noting that the “Empire” finale delivered a 3.5 average rating along with a 13 share to come in as the week’s No. 1 program and the highest-rated drama program on TV since “The Walking Dead” delivered a 7.6 average/25 share back on April 2.
Fox also said “Empire” has been the top drama for each of the past five weeks.
Fox’s drama lineup has been performing well, with the network noting that along with “Empire,” four other Fox dramas — “Gotham,” “Lucifer,” “Prison Break” and “Shots Fired” — all came in among the top nine dramas for the week.
