Things will be different this time around for two classic MTV series, with the cable channel announcing Thursday that it will relaunch “Cribs” and “Girl Code” on the social media platform Snapchat rather than on traditional television.

“Cribs” launches this Saturday, June 3, featuring Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Steve Aoki.

“Each episode of ‘Cribs’ has been reimagined for Snapchat, offering viewers a sneak peek into a different room or area of their favorite artists’ and athletes’ homes,” MTV says in the announcement.

The program will be featured on Snapchat’s Discover platform, where it will be available to viewers for 48 hours.

The female-focused comedy series “Girl Code” will premiere July 27 with returning cast members including Carly Aquilino and Matteo Lane.

  1. In this time of delayed viewing, it will be interesting to see if 48 hours is providing enough time.
