A CBS drama series has parted ways with two of its stars following a battle over pay parity. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park are off the show.

Kim played Chin Ho Kelly on the show, with Park appearing as his cousin Kono Kalakaua. Both actors had been with the show from the beginning.

Kim talked about his exit from the show in a long message to fans posted today on his Facebook page. In it he wrote: “By now many of you have heard the news, and I’m sad to say it is true. I will not be returning to Hawaii Five-0 when production starts next week. Though I made myself available to come back, CBS and I weren’t able to agree to terms on a new contract, so I made the difficult choice not to continue.”

Park and Kim reportedly sought pay parity with stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan. The Post reported separately that Park and Kim were thought to be making 10% to 15% less than O’Loughlin and Caan.

  1. Its very disturbing to see these fine actors not receive the money they deserve, danie dae kim and grace park are two of the main reasons i watch this show, I personally dont care much for scott cann.

  2. CBS is going to find out if this impacts their ratings. But I am sure that throwing the non-white males off the show will increase the ratings. Where are all the Hollywood liberals when this blatant discrimination happens in their backyard?

  3. Sorry meant to type actors

  4. Totally dismayed by this news. My daughter and I watch Hawaii Five O regularly, but we wont without Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park.

The other actors should be ashamed for not sticking up for them

  5. WOW! The suits at CBS will have losE some ratings because they would not budge on parity. 10 to 15%, they will lose a lot more in the final analysis.
