A CBS drama series has parted ways with two of its stars following a battle over pay parity. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park are off the show.
Kim played Chin Ho Kelly on the show, with Park appearing as his cousin Kono Kalakaua. Both actors had been with the show from the beginning.
Kim talked about his exit from the show in a long message to fans posted today on his Facebook page. In it he wrote: “By now many of you have heard the news, and I’m sad to say it is true. I will not be returning to Hawaii Five-0 when production starts next week. Though I made myself available to come back, CBS and I weren’t able to agree to terms on a new contract, so I made the difficult choice not to continue.”
Park and Kim reportedly sought pay parity with stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan. The Post reported separately that Park and Kim were thought to be making 10% to 15% less than O’Loughlin and Caan.
