Passengers on a flight out of Las Vegas on budget carrier Spirit Airlines — which bills itself as the “home of the bare fare” — witnessed an unusual incident over the weekend as a passenger reportedly stripped naked while the plane was boarding.
USA Today quotes airport spokesman Chris Jones saying: “He removed his clothes and then approached a flight attendant. Metro officers were called and he was given medical attention.”
The incident took place Saturday on a flight headed for Oakland. The passenger was held for observation by authorities and medical personnel, according to media reports, with the incident being called a “medical episode.”
“Following the incident, Spirit Airlines Flight 359 took off about 30 minutes after its scheduled 11:28 a.m. departure time and landed in Oakland at 1:18 p.m., about 20 minutes late, according to flight-tracking service FlightAware,” USA Today adds.
