Showtime has given a series order to a new animated half-hour series centered on Donald Trump. The pay-cable net ordered 10 episodes of the untitled show, to be executive produced by Stephen Colbert.

The satirical program is scheduled to begin airing this fall.

“I know a lot of people wanted to do this, and I’m honored that the Cartoon President invited our documentary crew into his private world,” Colbert said.

“The fresh, cutting-edge comedy will present the truish adventures of Trump’s confidants and bon vivants — family, top associates, heads of government, golf pros and anyone else straying into his orbit — intrepidly exploring their histories and their psyches, revealing insights into what makes them so definitively Trumpian,” the announcement adds. “It’s a workplace comedy where the office happens to be oval; it’s a character study in search of character, as seen through the eyes of an imaginary documentary crew.

  1. Stephen Colbert has never existed in the real world so this is perfect for him. I think Showtime has moved many of their subscribers closer to cord cutting with the announcement and the broadcast of this program will likely cause a significant exodus. Then the liberal brain-trust at Showtime will blame Netflix again for their shrinkage! This is so much fun to watch.

  2. Hit the Nail on the Head again Mr. Reality Check! Nicely Done !!

  3. Considering that Colbert is setting ratings records for the Late Show on CBS, I rather suspect that this Trump cartoon will do just fine for Showtime.
