A programming marathon happening in one week has the provocative title “Dirty Monday,” a reference to the revered 1987 movie “Dirty Dancing.”
The marathon takes place Monday, Aug. 21, on Freeform, starting at 7 a.m. ET and going all day. The movie marathon celebrates the film’s 30th anniversary.
The movie can also been seen on the Freeform app and Freeform.com throughout August.
Today’s announcement from Freeform describes the movie this way: “In the summer of 1963, innocent 17-year-old Baby (Jennifer Grey) vacations with her parents at a Catskills resort. One evening she is drawn to the staff quarters by stirring music. There she meets Johnny (Patrick Swayze), the hotel dance instructor, who is as experienced as Baby is naive. Baby soon becomes Johnny’s pupil in dance and love.”
In addition to Swayze and Grey, “Dirty Dancing” stars Jerry Orbach, Cynthia Rhodes, Jack Weston and Jane Brucker.
