Finally, a Member of ‘Fake News’ Owns Up to Its Destructive Ways

Aug 23, 2017  •  Post A Comment

A column running under the headline “An apology to Donald Trump from the ‘fake news’ media” appears today in the Chicago Tribune, but the writer, Rex Huppke, appears to have tongue in cheek as he writes: “After watching Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Phoenix, it became clear that we in the media owe the president a sincere apology.”

Huppke goes on to examine Trump’s Tuesday comments, writing that Trump used the rally to “denounce the ‘fake news’ media for being mean, dishonest, bad, America-hating and an all-around pain in his keister. Referring to controversial comments he made in the wake of a deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., Trump said: ‘The words were perfect.'”

Huppke adds: “He even quoted his own perfect words, cleverly omitting the part where he blamed the Charlottesville tragedy on ‘many sides’ rather than just on the Nazi side, creating the controversy in the first place.”

Huppke then notes: ” After spending 15 or so minutes complaining about the media, he said of the media: ‘For the most part, all they do is complain. … These are really, really dishonest people and they’re bad people and I really think they don’t like our country. I really believe that.'”

Huppke goes on to offer an “apology” to Trump on behalf of the fake news media, which you can read by clicking on the link above to the Chicago Tribune.

  1. Watching the rioting in Phoenix last, I wondered what groups were being represented?

  2. We are need to pay tribute to our fearless leader, Lord Trump.

Its gratifying to see that we have finally elected a fearless leader who has all of the right answers …
and his new slogan, “Only the Right has the Right Way for America” says it all.

Can someone please send me the weblink to order the new cool aid, Trumpo …
I need to start drinking again …

Thanx – A Trump servant for life … and beyond!

  3. What Trump said about Charlottesville was true. Two sides were responsible for what happened. It was also false reporting from the get go as to what happened, with the claim that a person purposefully drove a car into a crowd of pedestrians. What actually happened is a man drove his car into the back of a car which hit another care and then a woman in the street was killed by the third car. We still don’t know why the driver drove into the back of the first car.

So a couple hundred idiots were marching for their idiocy and instead of ignoring the meatheads, the antifas and BLM decided they would engage them with their own hate, vitriol and physicality. The march would have been what it was, a pointless, meaningless parade by a couple hundred racist losers. Instead it turned into a melee and a woman is dead. But, it was only one side that caused it… BS!!!

Fighting hate with hate is nonsensical and that is what happened.

  4. What the media won’t admit, is how clueless and out of touch they are to regular, ordinary people in “flyover country.” Every night the left leaning cable news fills the airwaves with vitriol, panic, astonishment and any other number of nervous breakdown laden pablum about our President. They (CNN) bring on panels to denounce Trump (that have been pretty diverse by way of race and gender) and then they are SHOCKED when these panelists say they approve of the President. Some Democratic Senators opine that when they are back home in their districts/states that “My constituents don’t seem to care about Russia or what the President said in Charlottsville. They care about Jobs and Health Care.” (and then those people are NOT invited back). The print media is in even worse shape than TV. MSNBC loves to talk about how low the Presidents approval rating is. But they don’t mention that his is HIGHER than any media, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell etc…I would think that’s a necessary detail. 🙂 If there’s one thing we should have learned about polls, it’s that they’ve become worthless. Heavy over-sampling of democratic voters are skewing polls. That’s why it was such a shock that Hillary LOST. She never really had much of a lead if at all. It’s why Benjamin Nyetanyaho won in Israel the year before our election when it was predicted he would lose by 10-15 points. The media became corrupt a LONG time ago, it’s just that they are far more open about it now.
