A new comedy series premiering next month on Showtime released a clip going behind the scenes to hear from the show’s star Jay Pharoah and cast members Utkarsh Ambudkar and Jacob Ming-Trent. The show is “White Famous,” which premieres Sunday, Oct. 15.

“Saturday Night Live” alum Pharoah stars as Floyd Mooney, a young African-American comedian whose star is on the rise but who has to navigate the obstacles of trying to become “white famous.”

The show is based on the experiences of Jamie Foxx, who executive produces along with Tom Kapinos, creator of “Californication.”
