Sitcom Star Tops List of Highest-Paid TV Actresses

On the new Forbes list of the highest-paid television actresses, the No. 1 spot is held by Sofia Vergara, who stars in the ABC sitcom “Modern Family.”

In fact, Vergara topped the list for the sixth consecutive year.

“Vergara banked $41.5 million before taxes and fees in the 12 months to June 1, some $15 million more than second-ranked [Kaley] Cuoco of CBS’s ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ who earned $26 million during the same period,” Forbes reports.

Cuoco is paid $1 million an episode for her sitcom role — more than twice what Vergara receives for hers — but Vergara more than makes up the difference with licensing, endorsements and other deals, Forbes notes.

Tying for No. 3 on the list are Ellen Pompeo of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and Mindy Kaling of Hulu’s “The Mindy Project,” with earnings of $13 million each.

Mariska Hargitay of NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” comes in at No. 5, earning $12.5 million.

  1. these fees are not based on their tv-only salaries, so it’s quite misleading.
