The Hollywood Foreign Press Association spotlighted some of the hot new TV shows as the nominations were announced for the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards.

Among the winners in this round is Netflix, which scored nine nominations — up from five a year ago — to rank second only to HBO. The premium cable net settled for 12 nods this year, down from 14 a year ago, with “Big Little Lies” accounting for half of this year’s HBO nominations.

FX was third among networks with eight nominations — including four for “Feud: Bette and Joan” and three for “Fargo” — while NBC and Showtime each secured five nods.

The competition for Best TV drama is among Netflix’s “The Crown” and “Stranger Things,” HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” and NBC’s “This Is Us.”

For best TV comedy, the five nominees are ABC’s “black-ish,” Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Netflix’s “Master of None,” Showtime’s “SMILF” and NBC’s revival of “Will & Grace.”
