The Disney/ABC Television Group announced the hiring of a chief technology officer, naming industry veteran Mike Napodano to the post.
The hire was announced by Bruce Rosenblum, president of Business Operations, to whom Napodano will report.
“Mike’s proven leadership and ability to work across multiple platforms have led to new innovative technologies that are being leveraged by our industry every day,” said Rosenblum. “Disney|ABC will benefit greatly from his fresh perspective, forward thinking and technical expertise as the media industry continues to embrace advancements in the digital space.”
Napodano will be the most senior member of Disney|ABC’s technology team and will oversee the group’s long-term technology vision and implementation, the company said in its announcement.
“Additionally, he will be responsible for media operations and distribution, network operations and engineering, IT strategy and operations, and an integrated enterprise-wide consumer data platform. This includes a focus on the use, optimization and replenishment of current technology solutions, as well as an expanded responsibility for forward-looking digital technologies,” the announcement adds. “He will also supervise the design and management of an enterprise-wide data platform for leveraging consumer data and driving business insights.”
