ABC is striking while the iron is hot, announcing that it will bring its “Roseanne” revival, which premiered this week to huge ratings, back for a second season.
It will be the sitcom’s 11th season overall — the show ran for nine seasons during its original run, from 1988-1997, ranking in the top three in the Nielsens for its first five seasons, including a stay at No. 1 in season two.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed cites sources saying the show will also see an increase in its episode order, from nine for the current season to 13 for next season.
It was unknown whether the next season will be ready in time for this fall.
