Actress Ashley Judd has filed a lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein, accusing the former head of Miramax of harming her career as retaliation for her rejection of his sexual advances, the AP reports.

“In the lawsuit filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Judd accuses Weinstein of defamation, sexual harassment and violation of California’s unfair competition law,” the AP reports. “Central to the lawsuit is director Peter Jackson saying in December that Weinstein had warned him that Judd was a ‘nightmare’ to work with. Jackson was considering Judd for a major role in his ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies.”

Judd was among the first group of women who spoke out in October alleging sexual misconduct by Weinstein, the report notes.

“Weinstein has denied trying to derail Judd’s career, and said he had no role in Jackson’s casting,” the report adds.
