“ESPN+ will be an integrated part of a completely redesigned and reimagined ESPN App that will be the premier all-in-one digital sports platform for fans,” ESPN said in today’s announcement. “ESPN+ will also be available through ESPN.com. The new ESPN App and ESPN+ showcase the culture of breakthrough innovation at ESPN and across The Walt Disney Company.”

Along with other programming, the service promises live sports including hundreds of MLB, NHL and MLS games, thousands of college sports events, Top Rank Boxing, PGA Tour golf and Grand Slam tennis.

  1. ESPN has the most convoluted online system. The ESPN app, which doesn’t include ESPN3. ESPN3 which is hard to find even with an app and when you find it, there is not always a way to watch, even if you are willing to pay. ESPN Everywhere which is not offered everywhere; and now this. They need to figure out what they are offering and where they are going to offer it and make it simple for the consumer. Plus they need to coordinate with the cable and satellite providers like other pay networks – HBO, Showtime, etc. No one is going to pay twice for a network. Hopefully, this is not what we can expect from the rest of the new Disney offerings. At least when you go to Amazon you have two options – if it is in Prime it is free. If not you pay. Very simple.

  2. NeuLion streaming loses at least one million per year.
With this news, they’ll lose their business.
