NBC’s Megyn Kelly Has a Warning for Tom Brokaw’s Backers at the Network

May 1, 2018  •  Post A Comment

NBC morning host Megyn Kelly took the plunge into the sexual harassment scandal that has gripped the network, including the latest allegations against former NBC “Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw. Kelly held a round table discussion on the subject on Monday’s installment of her show, which you can watch below.

Brokaw has come out strongly against the allegations by former NBC correspondent Linda Vester, calling Vester a “character assassin.”

Kelly discussed the allegations, and NBC’s response to them, on Monday’s show with NBC correspondents Stephanie Gosk and Kate Snow.

The Washington Post reports that the panel “noted that a petition is circulating among dozens of current and former female co-workers pledging their support for the anchor, whom they described as ‘a man of tremendous decency and integrity.’ Among those signing were Rachel Maddow, Andrea Mitchell and Maria Shriver.”

Kelly, however, appeared to offer a warning about the women’s letter of support for Brokaw.

The Post reports that Kelly, who had her own experiences as part of a network going through a sexual harassment scandal while she was at Fox News, “offered such a letter is ‘basically a character reference’ but can also be ‘dicey.’”

The paper quotes Kelly saying: “I understand that because when you love the person under attack you want to say, ‘This has been my experience.’ I will say that the same thing did happen at Fox. And the truth is, you don’t know what you don’t know. And that’s not in any way to impugn Tom, who I love and who has been so good to me. I’m just saying, you don’t know what you don’t know.”

Here’s the segment from Monday’s “Megyn Kelly Today” …

  1. Stfu Megan…your days are numbered judging from your ratings. Go back to Fox…sheesh

  2. You might not like MK. But what she said is true. I’m sure Ted Bundy had some female friends, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was a sexual predator and a serial killer. I’m not comparing Tom Brokaw to Ted Bundy but prominent women saying they have found Brokaw to be a decent guy with integrity has nothing to do with whether he crossed the line with his accusers. Insulting Megyn Kelly also doesn’t add anything to the conversation. And if you are going to slam Megyn Kelly, at least spell her name correctly. It’s in the frigging article.

  3. Hahahahaha
    Ur funny

  4. No matter what the story, Megyn just HAS to become part of it. It’s always about her. What a waste of 60+ million bucks.

  5. There is a big difference between hitting on a person with a high profile or who is clearly favored by management and moving up quickly. It is entirely different to take advantage of young women who are just starting out and representing that you could trade favors.

  6. Ms. Kelly’s executive producers and Andy Lack seem desperate for her to command more national attention by using stunts. Brokaw has every right to defend himself as the accusers had rights to make claims. Shame on Today producers for maneuvering to leverage the story before all the facts were considered.
