Canceled Drama Series Comes Back to Life

A drama series that was the focus of a “save the show” campaign by its fans following its cancellation by Fox in May will be coming back to life — on Netflix this time. The streamer announced via social media that it will run a fourth season of the fantasy police procedural “Lucifer.”

The show was canceled by Fox on May 11, just ahead of its third season finale. The series, which stars Tom Ellis and Lauren German, first premiered on Fox in January 2016.

The Warner Bros. Television series is based on the DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, which first appeared in the comic book series “The Sandman” before getting its own spinoff comic series on DC’s Vertigo imprint.
