  1. Everyone – especially those of us on the west coast should have a tear in our eye. Those of us who are old enough to remember – Nixon going to China and Reagan going to Reykjavik. The actions by these President’s was strongly criticize, with the same objections, that we are hearing today. However, these events were critical in starting the talks between nuclear powers that brought China into the world’s economy. It wasn’t fast, but it did happen because of that first meeting. The same with Reagan’s meeting with Gorbachev. It eventually brought down the Berlin Wall and the break up of the Soviet Union. Trump’s meeting could have as dramatic a result. It may take years as did the other two. But nothing can happen until the countries begin to talk. Dennis Rodman is correct that talking between the leaders has long been needed. Now a meeting has happened and there is a real opportunity that North Korea may also join the the world’s economy and not be a threat.

  2. Very true. Interesting to hear that Obama snubbed Dennis Rodman when approached with this same idea.
