One of the stars of the 1980s CBS series “The Dukes of Hazzard” was released after being jailed in an alimony dispute. The AP reports that John Schneider, who starred as Bo Duke from 1979-1985, had his three-day sentence cut short because of overcrowding at the Los Angeles County Jail. He was released Tuesday.
“The ‘Smallville’ star told Fox News he cannot afford the payments to his estranged wife Elvira ‘Elly’ Schneider,” the AP reports. “She filed for divorce in 2014 after 21 years of marriage; they have three adult children.”
Schneider, 58, said he’s “disheartened” with the system. He still has to pay the alimony, and also faces community service, the AP reports.
