A project that was originally made for Fox, which passed on the pilot for the broadcast network’s 2018-2019 fall lineup, has been ordered to series by Netflix.

The streamer announced a 10-episode order for the romantic musical drama “Mixtape.” Netflix says the series “looks at the love stories connecting a diverse, disparate group of people in contemporary Los Angeles through the music that lives inside their hearts and minds.”

The project stars Callie Hernandez, Jahmil French and Jenna Dewan. Executive producers are Joshua Safran, Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle and Ali Krug. The writer is Safran.

The original pilot was directed by Jesse Peretz. Other cast members include Campbell Scott, Madeleine Stowe, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Megan Ferguson and Evan Whitten.

The series comes from Annapurna Pictures in association with 20th Century Fox Television and Fox 21 Television Studios.
