Three YouTube Stars Die in Waterfall Accident

Three young adventurers who chronicled their travels on a popular YouTube channel were killed this week in a waterfall accident in Canada.

Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh and Megan Scraper of Vancouver, who were regulars on the channel High on Life, were on a swimming expedition Tuesday near the top of Shannon Falls in British Columbia when they fell 98 feet into a pool below them, according to media reports.

Scraper was reportedly the first to fall, and Gamble and Lyakh may have died trying to save her. All three of them became swept up by the strong current and were pulled to the pool’s ledge.

“Gamble and Lyakh formed the YouTube channel High On Life — which boasts more than 500,000 subscribers — with high school friend Parker Heuser to chronicle their adventures around the world,” The New York Post reports. “They have also attracted a massive fan base on social media — 1.1 million followers on Instagram, more than 126,000 likes on their Facebook page, and more than half a million subscribers to their channel.”
