CNN Anchor’s Odd Comment After Cosby Sentencing Takes on a Life of Its Own on Social Media

Sep 26, 2018  •  Post A Comment

An unfortunate choice of words by a CNN anchor during Tuesday’s high-profile coverage of the Bill Cosby sentencing has become a bit of a viral sensation.

As Cosby accuser Andrea Constand is seen on live TV leaving the courtroom, CNN’s Brooke Baldwin describes Constand’s appearance and says something that sounds like, “I just want to sit on her face.”

It’s not clear exactly what Baldwin meant, but she may have been trying to say, “I just want to see it on her face,” referring to Constand’s reaction to the sentencing. Cosby received a sentence of three to ten years for assaulting Constand in 2004.

Baldwin may have also been suggesting that the camera remain on Constand’s face. While there are a number of alternative interpretations, many social media users are reading something lewd into Baldwin’s apparent faux-pas.

Among the comments on Twitter:

“Best moment on CNN today, when Brooke Baldwin, while looking at Andrea Constand coming out of the courtroom says ‘I just want to sit on her face’!  I assume she meant ‘stay’, but, comedy gold right there!”

“BROOKE BALDWIN OBJECTIFIES WOMEN AND FANTASIZES ABOUT SEXUALLY ASSAULTING THEM”

“Today’s ‘I Can’t Take That Back’ award goes to Brooke Baldwin @CNN.”

“If anything, at least CNN’s coverage is entertaining.”

Here’s one of the many clips of the incident that have been posted on YouTube …

  1. ENTERTAINING???? YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT RUINED LIVES…. HOW VERY SAD THAT YOU WOULD FIND THIS ENTERTAINING.

  2. Yeah not funny

  3. It’s hilarious. Slip of the tongue. Ruined lives… pffft

  4. I agree, this isn’t funny. It’s hilarious.

  5. This is probably the WORST THING I could say at this point in history, but…

I would LOVE to have Brooke Baldwin sit on my face.

So so so so so so so SORRY about that.

  6. She probably did say that to her producer. “Sitting on someone’s face” is a term we always used in the studio and booth when you wanted the technical director, or the camera person to stay focused on someones face.

  7. She meant that the camera should stay focused on her face and her expression to see how she felt about the sentence. lol, She might have worded it differently but it’s clear to me that’s what she meant.

  8. It is industry-speak for: “Leave the camera on her; without any anchor voiceover.”

  9. Translation : Ridiculously Unbelievable, obvious way cabs and sane gender Thieves with drug and promiscuity problems are lieing OBVIOUSLY on him.

  10. Siri her face I think was intentional to say Translation : The accusers are Ridiculously Unbelievable that are obviously some same gender, some drug issues, some Wiccan women obviously lying women who are only interest in trying to destroy and rob from heterosexuals and only sexual contact is with women AKA WITCH HUNT BY SAME SEX COMMUNITY.m through courts and media to enlarge their lost group.
