“John kicked off the gargantuan ‘Yellow Brick Road’ trek on September 8th in Allentown, Pennsylvania with a set featuring greatest hits and deep cuts alike,” Rolling Stone reports. “The bombastic arena production — which includes new videos from photographer David LaChapelle and animator Alan Aldridge — will currently run through December 15th, 2018 in Dallas Texas; after a break, the tour resumes January 11th, 2019 in Boise, Idaho.”
The 300-date tour is due to wrap up sometime in 2021.
John is quoted saying at a press conference in January: “I’m 71. I can’t physically do the traveling anymore. I want to be at home. I really want to spend time with my children at home. I’ve had an incredible life, but life is all about change.”
