CBS Corp. announced today that it has filled the newly created position of Chief People Officer, with President and acting CEO Joe Ianniello announcing the appointment of Laurie Rosenfield to the post.
Rosenfield, who will be based in New York, will report to Ianniello.
“We are very pleased to name Laurie to this new position as we continue to reassess and strengthen the culture here at CBS,” Ianniello said. “Our employees are our most valuable asset, and this role has been created to ensure we remain steadfast in our commitment to putting our people first. Laurie’s expertise in attracting, developing and retaining the best talent, coupled with her focus on the opportunity in front of us to strengthen our workplace, made her the natural choice to take on this vitally important responsibility.”
The official announcement notes that Rosenfield “will focus on people and culture and be responsible for managing certain human resources functions for the Company, including oversight of learning and development; executive search; talent acquisition; as well as the day-to-day human resources ‘generalist’ responsibilities with each of CBS’ business units.”
Said Rosenfield: “The goal of transforming our shared experience into new accomplishments is an opportunity for all of us. Our rich legacy of creativity is taking us forward into the digital future — an inflection point, which will see our mission and our values driven by our biggest asset, our people. I am honored and humbled to take on this role.”
Rosenfield joined the company in May of this year as Senior Vice President, People Development, Human Resources, CBS Corp., a position in which she focused on senior executive development.
“Prior to joining CBS, Rosenfield was a specialist in executive search and talent development since 2002, most recently serving as Managing Director, Executive Search at MediaLink from 2014 to 2018, where she worked closely with clients experiencing disruption at the intersection of media, marketing, entertainment, advertising and technology,” the announcement notes, adding: “Previously, she was Global Director, Executive Search at Wolters Kluwer, a global information and technology services firm, and before that, she served as Senior Vice President of Client Services at Bishop Partners Executive Search, and as Director, Technology, Media & Telecom Practice at CTPartners. Rosenfield worked for CBS earlier in her career in Network Sales and Affiliate Relations. She began her career in programming and development roles in the motion picture divisions for both United Artists Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox. Rosenfield is an alumna of Dartmouth College.”
If course it is a woman and more political correctness. Perhaps classes on how people need to keep their hands to themselves whilst at work or be fired will put an end to this bs.
