The comedy series that won eight Primetime Emmys including Outstanding Comedy Series this year will return for its second season Dec. 5.
Amazon announced plans today for season two of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” whose freshman season brought Emmy wins not only for the show but also for lead actress Rachel Brosnahan, supporting actress Alex Borstein and director and writer Amy Sherman-Palladino, among others.
Other cast members include Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen and Kevin Pollak.
Amazon released this synopsis for season two: “After Midge’s triumph at the Gaslight, the fallout from her takedown of Sophie Lennon looms large, making her climb up the comedy ladder more challenging than ever. As the actual grind of being a comic begins to take its toll on Midge, the pressure to come clean to her family weighs on her — especially as her choices have a ripple effect on everyone around her.”
Amy Sherman-Palladino is the show’s creator and executive producer, with Daniel Palladino as executive producer.
