Dick Cheney’s Daughter Goes After Christian Bale Over His Golden Globes Speech — Here It Is … and Her Response

Jan 7, 2019  •  Post A Comment

After Christian Bale picked up the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy for his performance as Dick Cheney in “Vice,” his acceptance speech came under scrutiny, including from Cheney’s daughter Liz Cheney.

In his acceptance speech, Bale appeared to equate Dick Cheney with the devil, thanking Satan “for giving me inspiration on how to play this role.”

Liz Cheney, a Republican congresswoman from Wyoming, responded on Twitter — you can see her post below, which linked to a story in the U.K. paper The Independent from 2008.

Bale’s legal reps were quoted saying at the time: “Christian Bale attended a London police station, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr. Bale, who denies the allegation, cooperated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale.”
