An actor who’s best known for his role on the comedy series “Scrubs” has been diagnosed with cancer. The New York Post reports that Sam Lloyd, who played attorney Ted on the hit series, has a brain tumor.

“Lloyd, who welcomed his first child with wife Vanessa in January, began experiencing headaches shortly afterward but chalked them up to being a new dad, according to the GoFundMe set up for his family. He then lost 10 pounds but also attributed that to ‘a busy schedule,’ as he had been caring for his ailing mother in Vermont,” The Post reports. “However, when the headaches increased, Lloyd underwent a CT scan that revealed he had a brain tumor.”

The report adds: “Within a day he went in for surgery, but doctors determined the tumor was too intertwined to remove. The couple was informed that the cancer in his brain had metastasized from his lungs, and further scans showed the cancer was also in his liver, spine and jaw.”
