NBC made it official after it was revealed on “The Tonight Show” that the network’s newest late-night personality will be Lilly Singh. The network detailed plans for “A Little Late with Lilly Singh,” which will take over the 1:35 a.m. slot starting in September.

As we reported previously, Singh revealed she’s getting the time slot during an appearance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.” You can watch the clip below.

The half-hour show’s exact premiere date has yet to be announced.

NBC noted in its announcement that the assignment makes Singh “the only woman to currently host a late-night talk show on a Big 4 network.”

“Lilly is truly a star and we’re thrilled to welcome her to our NBC family,” said Doug Vaughan, executive vice president of Special Programs and Late Night for NBC Entertainment. “She is a multi-talented performer who will surely have a great rapport with not only all her guests but also with our devoted late-night audience. We can’t wait to get started.”

“A Little Late with Lilly Singh” will be produced by Universal Television and Unicorn Island Productions. Singh will executive produce, with Polly Auritt as co-executive producer.
