CBS News Fixture Reportedly Leaving the Network

An on-air personality at CBS who has been a part of the “CBS Evening News” and recently has been co-hosting “CBS This Morning” is said to be leaving the network. AOL News reports that Bianna Golodryga, who became a co-anchor on “CBS This Morning” less than six months ago, is on the way out.

Golodryga, who has been with CBS since 2017, was reportedly moved off of “CBS This Morning” by the new president of CBS News, Susan Zirinsky.

The report cites sources saying that Zirinsky felt that the show had too many anchors — it currently has four, with Norah O’Donnell, Gayle King and John Dickerson, along with Golodryga.

“The talent change at ‘CBS This Morning’ is the first Zirinsky has made since becoming president on March 1,” AOL reports. “Zirinsky had hoped to keep Golodryga at CBS to work on other news programs. But Golodryga’s deal with CBS News guarantees her a co-anchor position on ‘CBS This Morning,’ which allows her to leave the network if she isn’t kept in that role. A source close to Golodryga said she planned to exercise her option to leave.”

Zirinsky, who succeeded David Rhodes as head of CBS News, is expected to make additional talent changes across CBS News in the coming weeks, AOL notes.

  1. How can she be a “fixture” after 6 months? 99.9% of tv viewers have no idea who she is.

    • the author must have another definition of fixture or rather the headline was merely click bait nonsense

  2. I know who she is. She is a gifted journalist that I always enjoyed listening to. I will miss her. I think John Dickerson isn’t the right fit fir this panel.

  3. Thank God!!! There are way too many people on that show. Whoever at CBS thought bringing her in to the mix was a good idea is an blithering idiot.
