CBS Unveils Plans for ‘Lip Sync to the Rescue’

Apr 2, 2019  •  Post A Comment

CBS has unveiled plans for a show called “Lip Sync to the Rescue,” inspired by the recent viral video phenomenon #LipSyncChallenge. The one-hour special, to be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, will air later this year.

The show features first responders posting lip sync videos and challenging other departments to do the same.

“#LipSyncChallenge began as a fun way for police, sheriff, fire department and EMTs to engage with their communities by creating lip sync music videos and challenging other departments to do the same,” CBS says in today’s announcement. “Now, on ‘Lip Sync to the Rescue,’ fans can rally around their favorite videos when the first round of voting begins on CBS.com this month. The top 10 videos selected will be revealed during the show, which will film in front of an audience of first responders, family and friends. Two videos will advance to the LIVE vote during the broadcast to crown a winner.”

The deadline for entries is Friday, April 12. For details about how to enter and other details about the show, click here.

  1. This needs to be a weekly show. Wonderful camaraderie between first responders and ordinary citizens.

  2. OMG, this was soooooooo fun to watch. I agree with Mitzi, the camaraderie could really build some bridges between citizens and first responders. I am so happy for Norfolk, that video never gets old. I hope that CBS starts a trend around the country to encourage other first responders’ to “compete”

  3. Please make this a weekly show!!
