A cable drama series has been canceled, with the show’s creators breaking the news on Twitter. Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley announced the cancellation of the sci-fi series “Humans” after three seasons.

The show from Britain’s Channel 4, AMC Studios and Kudos aired on AMC in the U.S. and on Channel 4 in Britain. The series premiered in 2015 and had a 24-episode run.

“Humans” starred Manpreet Bachu, Emily Berrington, Ruth Bradley, Lucy Carless and Gemma Chan.

In their announcement, Vincent and Brackley wrote: “Sadly there won’t be a 4th season of ‘Humans.’ In this age of unprecedented choice and competition, we can have no complaints. Channel 4 and AMC were the perfect partners. They supported the show brilliantly and above all — let us make three seasons!”

They added: “We know we left some threads hanging. That was the way we always wrote the show. Maybe one day we’ll get a chance to pick them back up. If there’s anyone out there with a few million quid and an interest in AI stories, we’re all ears.”
