A new survey finds that consumers, by a wide margin, believe the best original programming among premium television channels and over-the-top subscription services is found on Netflix.
Variety reports that the survey was conducted by Morgan Stanley.
“About 40% of consumers surveyed said the streamer is the No. 1 outlet on this front, up from 39% last year,” Variety reports. “The next highest scoring service was HBO, at 11%, which was down from 14% on the firm’s 2018 survey.”
The response “don’t know” actually came in second with 32% of responses. Hulu was named by 6% of respondents, followed by Amazon Prime Video at 5% and Showtime and Starz both at 2%.
