Good News and Bad News About the New Jean-Luc Picard ‘Star Trek’ Series

May 13, 2019  •  Post A Comment

Today’s announcement about how CBS’s new Jean-Luc Picard “Star Trek” series starring Patrick Stewart will be distributed will come as good news to “Star Trek” fans who are holding out on subscribing to CBS streaming services — unless they happen to live in the U.S. or Canada.

Amazon Prime Video and CBS Studios International announced that Amazon Prime will be the exclusive streaming home of the new series in more than 200 countries and territories, but not in the U.S. and Canada. Here the show will be featured on CBS All Access.

In those countries where the series, which is still untitled, will be distributed by Amazon, it will appear within 24 hours of its U.S. premiere. The arrangement is part of a multiyear agreement between CBS and Amazon.
