May 29, 2019  •  Post A Comment

After airing on ABC since 2011 — and delivering record-low ratings for its 2019 installment — the Miss America Competition is moving to NBC for 2020.

NBC announced today that discussions are under way with potential venues, with the date and location of the competition to be announced soon.

NBC last aired the competition in 1996, before the event shifted to ABC, then CMT and TLC, landing back at ABC in 2011.

“NBC is excited to once again team with our friends at the Miss America Organization in what we know will be an entertaining telecast featuring so many inspiring women,” said Doug Vaughan, Executive Vice President, Special Programs and Late Night, NBC Entertainment.
