A new series with some serious roots in science fiction television — it comes from “Battlestar Glactica” creator and “Star Trek” producer Ron Moore — speculates about a space race that goes well beyond landing a man on the moon.

The series is Apple TV’s “For All Mankind,” coming this fall, when Apple TV+ premieres on the Apple TV app.

Along with Emmy winner Moore, the show is created by Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi.

“Told through the lives of NASA astronauts, engineers and their families, ‘For All Mankind’ presents an aspirational world where NASA and the space program remained a priority and a focal point of our hopes and dreams,” Apple TV says.

The series stars Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Wrenn Schmidt, Shantel VanSanten, Sarah Jones and Jodi Balfour.

Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi are executive producers
