CMT Names Recipient of ‘Artist of a Lifetime’ Award

An iconic country singer who’s a familiar face on television will be the recipient of CMT’s “Artist of a Lifetime” award at the 2019 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony. The channel announced that the award will be presented to Reba McEntire.

The ceremony will be televised live from Nashville on CMT on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

McEntire will be joining an exclusive list of previous “Lifetime” recipients that includes Loretta Lynn (2018), Shania Twain (2016), Kenny Rogers (2015) and Merle Haggard (2014).

The “CMT Artists of the Year” special is celebrating its 10th year this year. The five “Artists of the Year” honorees are Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett.
