A drama series that was a spinoff of a long-running show won’t be around nearly as long as the original. Variety reports that Freeform pulled the plug on “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” after just one season.

The original “Pretty Little Liars” ran seven seasons on ABC Family and Freeform, from 2010-2017. The spinoff, which was also created by I. Marlene King, starred Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish from the original show.

The spinoff was based on the novel “The Perfectionists,” by Sara Shepard, who also wrote the book on which “Pretty Little Liars” was based. “The Perfectionists” also starred Sofia Carson, Sydney Park, Eli Brown, Graeme Thomas King and Kelly Rutherford.

The show wrapped its 10-episode season in May. The original “Pretty Little Liars” ran for 160 episodes.
