A U.S. television executive with a long track record in the industry will be honored by MIPCOM as its 2019 Personality of the Year. The organization announced the selection of Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer, for the honor.
Greenblatt, an internationally renowned entertainment executive and producer, will receive the award at a gala dinner for leading international television executives at the Carlton Hotel, Cannes, France, and will take part in a keynote interview on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
The entertainment content market MIPCOM, whose theme this year is “The Streaming Offensive,” takes place in Cannes Oct. 14-17.
“Robert Greenblatt is one of the most respected entertainment executives in our industry,” said Paul Zilk, CEO of Reed MIDEM, organizer of MIPCOM. “His passion for creative excellence, his pioneering spirit and groundbreaking approach to programming have changed the face of the industry.”
Greenblatt was previously chairman of NBC Entertainment.
Among those who have received the MIPCOM honor in the past are Issa Rae (2018), David Zaslav (2017) and Shonda Rhimes (2016).
